Western Pacific Crane & Equipment Facilitate First Delivery of Grove GHC220 to Ceccanti Inc.

Western Pacific Crane & Equipment had the privilege of delivering the first Grove GHC220 in North America this year to Ceccanti Inc., a construction company based in Tacoma, Washington.

Delivery and commissioning of the GHC220 took place in March with teams from Western Pacific and Grove working together to complete the commissioning process at Western Pacific’s Arlington, Washington, facility. While there, Ceccanti’s operators and technicians received training that provided a comprehensive introduction to the crane’s features, capabilities, and technologies.

Ceccanti’s GHC220 will be deployed on the project that initially drove their purchase decision: construction of the West Duwamish Wet Weather Storage Facility in Seattle. The 1.25-million-gallon underground storage tank will capture stormwater and wastewater that currently overflow into the Duwamish River and redirect it to a treatment plant.

“We purchased this GHC220 with the storage tank project in mind, as it is a perfect fit for this application,” said Jon VanderGriend, vice president and chief estimator at Ceccanti. “It’s a busy jobsite, which makes the GHC220’s ease of assembly, combined with its lift-and-carry capability, the ideal choice for reaching every spot on the jobsite.”

The GHC220 – Grove’s Largest Capacity Telescoping Crawler Crane

The GHC220 is the largest capacity crane in the telescoping crawler line-up. The GHC220 delivers a heavy-duty lifting power of 200 US tons and an exceptional reach of 265.7 ft when configured with the 71.5 ft manual or hydraulic swingaway extension.

Additional premium performance features of the GHC220:

  • An additional 90% pinning location on the boom sections for increased capacity and versatility during setup.
  • 100 percent pick-and-carry capability; lifting operations on up to a 4-degree slope.
  • PROVEN POWER Cummins B6.7L Tier 3 or Tier 4 final diesel engine

The new GHC220 is the eighth Manitowoc crane in Ceccanti’s fleet. Ceccanti will continue to rely on Western Pacific Crane & Equipment for responsive parts and service support, helping keep the crane operating at peak performance. The company also benefits from Manitowoc’s broader aftermarket resources, including training programs, digital tools, and technical support.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Ceccanti receive the very first delivery of the Grove GHC220 in North America; the Grove GHC220 powerhouse is an absolute game-changer for complex, congested infrastructure work, combining the raw lifting capacity of a crawler with 100% pick-and-carry mobility,” said Randy DeFosse, General Manager at Western Pacific Crane & Equipment. “Watching this machine make its debut on major Pacific Northwest infrastructure projects is a proud moment for our team. We look forward to providing the premier parts, service, and product support that Ceccanti relies on to maximize uptime and keep their fleet running strong.”
